The conversation continues this Wednesday on MARKETING EDGE ONTV as veteran advertising leader, Kelechi Nwosu, returns for the concluding edition of the Industry Conversation segment, where he will take a deeper look at the pressing realities shaping Nigeria’s advertising and marketing communications landscape.

Meanwhile, this week’s edition of MARKETING EDGE ONTV will also feature the programme’s regular Brand New and Brand in Focus segments, alongside the exclusive Industry Conversation with one of Nigeria’s most influential creative advertising voices.

MARKETING EDGE ONTV airs on WAP TV, DStv Channel 262, from 11:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., and on TVC News, DStv Channel 418, from 12:30 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. The repeat broadcast holds every Thursday on WAP TV from 9:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.

Following the insights shared in the first part of the interview, Nwosu will move beyond his personal leadership journey to address some of the industry’s most critical conversations, including agency sustainability, advertising investment, client relationships, industry remuneration, campaign effectiveness and the future direction of the profession.

The former Chief Executive Officer of TBWA\Concept and past President of the Association of Advertising Agencies of Nigeria (AAAN) will also reflect on the changing dynamics between brands and agencies, the challenges created by shrinking marketing budgets, and why organisations must view communication as a strategic investment rather than a cost.

With more than three decades of experience shaping brands, leading creative teams and mentoring professionals, he brings a wealth of industry knowledge to the discussion as he examines the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead for Nigeria’s advertising ecosystem.

Continuing from the first part of the conversation aired last week, Nwosu will provide deeper insights into the realities confronting agencies and brands in an increasingly competitive marketplace. He will also discuss the future of advertising spend, especially as businesses navigate economic pressures and reconsider their approach to marketing investment.

With the industry facing growing conversations around reduced marketing budgets, return on investment and campaign effectiveness, he will examine why brands must look beyond advertising as an expense and recognise its role as a strategic driver of business growth.

He will further address the question of measuring campaign success, highlighting the need for marketers and business leaders to consider broader indicators beyond immediate sales, including brand strength, consumer connection, loyalty and long term business value.

Bringing more than three decades of experience in advertising, strategic brand management and integrated marketing communications, Nwosu has remained one of the influential figures responsible for shaping Nigeria’s creative industry.

During his tenure as Chief Executive Officer of TBWA\Concept, he transformed the agency into one of Nigeria’s leading creative agencies, building multidisciplinary teams that delivered impactful campaigns for both multinational and indigenous brands.

Under his leadership, the agency became recognised for combining disruptive creativity with strategic thinking, helping organisations strengthen brand identity, deepen consumer engagement and achieve measurable business outcomes.

Beyond agency leadership, Nwosu has also contributed significantly to industry development. As former President of the Association of Advertising Agencies of Nigeria, he worked towards advancing professional standards, encouraging collaboration among industry stakeholders and promoting responsible practices within the advertising ecosystem.

His leadership journey includes involvement in several landmark campaigns that left lasting impressions on Nigeria’s advertising landscape. These include the successful market introduction of MTN, the launches of Virgin Atlantic and Virgin Nigeria, as well as iconic initiatives such as Spirit of Lagos and Proudly Made in Aba.

Through these projects, Nwosu demonstrated how creativity could extend beyond brand promotion to influence culture, national identity and economic conversations.

During the programme, the former TBWA\Concept CEO will also reflect on leadership succession, including why George Isitua-Onukwu emerged as the right successor to guide the agency into its next phase of growth.

He will equally revisit lessons from decades of building brands, developing talent and shaping industry conversations, while sharing his expectations for the next generation of advertising professionals.

As a strong advocate for strategic communication, Nwosu has consistently promoted the role of public relations as a management function rather than merely a publicity tool, emphasising its importance in reputation building, stakeholder engagement and organisational trust.
