LAIF to unveil judges tomorrow

The organisers of the Lagos Advertising and Ideas Festival  (LAIF) Awards will announce its panel of judges for the 2018 edition of the awards by tomorrow, November 27, 2018.

The announcement was made on the official Instagram handle of the Association of Advertising Agencies of Nigeria (AAAN), organisers of the awards.

This year’s LAIF Awards themed: ‘Future Forward’ will hold on December 9, 2018 at the Landmark Event Center, Victoria Island Lagos.

Recall that the 2017 LAIF Awards had the Managing Director, TreeWater Retreats Limited and co-founder of SO&U, Mrs. Julia Oku-Jacks as the president of the panel of Judges.

Speaking about the awards, the Presdient,  Association of Advertising Agencies of Nigeria (AAAN), Mr. Ikechi Odigbo, revealed that from 2019, Lagos Advertising and Ideas Festival (LAIF) will begin to accept entries from other West African countries.

He also hinted that the ultimate plan of the association was to make LAIF Award a pan African award show.

Odigbo stressed further that plans are already on top gear to move the award beyond the shores of the country.

He, however, said that at the moment the association has concluded plans to hold the 13th edition of the LAIF Awards with the theme: “Future Forward.”

Speaking in the same vein, the Chairman, LAIF Management Board and Vice President of the Association, Mr. Steve Babaeko, stated that this year’s awards will hold at Landmark Event Centre and Freedom Park.

Babaeko pointed out that the award is categorized into three segments such as: LAIF Seminar/Exhibition, Young LAIFERS Competition and LAIF Award dinner.

He noted that over 500 delegates from various sectors of the industry are expected to grace the Seminar, noting that the Seminar offers a unique learning experience as well as provides an in-depth insight into key marketing and marketing communications challenges.

“The Young LAIFERS competition is a creative contest organized to discover and promote young talents within the industry and among students of higher institutions. The grand finale and awards dinner will be a grandiose event that will convene captains of the industry, business leaders and policy makers alike to celebrate the industry’s ideas and best practices.” Babaeko added.
