Lagos NIPR inaugurates training and education committee

 In a bid to propel growth and reposition for professionalism, the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Lagos State Chapter, has recently inaugurated training and education committee. The inauguration took place during its January 2022 monthly meeting at Eko FM Multipurpose Hall, Ikeja Lagos.
The committee members are: John Ehiguese as the chairman and Eniola Mayowa as the  secretary. Other members are: Peter Oguduro, Temitope Musowo, Ojo Stephen Tope, Thomas Anu Modupeoluwa, Efe Obiomah , O.T Oyekola, Dare Ogunyombo, and Olusegun Alabi.
According to the Lagos NIPR, it is expected of the committee to develop and implement trainings and master classes programmes for members’ professional development, assist in gathering facilitators at the Chapter’s monthly meetings and events, reach out to the PR students and academia for events, and provide inputs to the ongoing trainings and educational programmes.
Commenting on the  appointment, Mr. Ehiguese, chairman of the committee, said: ” I’m thrilled by the appointment. Perhaps the biggest challenge in the Nigerian PR industry today is that of capacity and that can only be addressed through an effective programme of training and capacity building.
“I’m glad that I have been considered worthy to lead the charge of developing and executing training programmes for the next generation of PR practitioners. Me and my committee members are determined to make a difference in this assignment.”
