Lagos NIPR Holds Stakeholders’ Conference August 29

The Lagos State Chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) will hold its fourth Stakeholders’ Conference at the Agip Recital Hall, MUSON Centre, Lagos on Tuesday August 29, 2017.

The conference, with the theme “Media, Communication and the Challenge of Quality Education for National Development,” will address the challenges of education. The forum will also serve as a platform for PR stakeholders to interact and proffer solutions to the socio, political and economic challenges besetting the sector and the economy.

The founder of Silverbird Group, Senator Ben Bruce and Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu will lead discussions at the event. Senator Bruce is expected to deliver the conference lecture, while the minister will be speaking on: Strategies for Revamping Nigeria’s Educational System for National Development. Lagos State Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, is also expected to deliver a paper titled: Bridging the Nation’s Education Gap in the 21st Century. The Chairman of First Bank of Nigeria Plc, Mrs. Ibukun Awosika, is expected to chair the session.

The Chairman of Lagos NIPR, Mr. Olusegun McMedal said the Institute is concerned about the quality of education and is poised to highlight the malady plaguing the sector. He said the conference will engage key stakeholders including decision makers in government, corporate organisations, and heads of educational institutions, media and communication practitioners for better perspectives and strategies to enhance the quality of education in the country.

According to him, “Building on the success of the previous three editions, this conference will climax with the Stakeholders & Sponsors Recognitions Awards. This will recognize selected individuals and organizations that have greatly contributed to the development of the Nigeria’s education sector over the years. It will also celebrate sponsors for supporting the call for the development of the country’s education system.”

Chairman, Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, was chairman of the first edition of the Conference in 2014. The conference has evolved to become a rallying point for stakeholders to proffer solution to national issues.

The Lagos NIPR Stakeholders’ Conference is the brainchild of Addefort Limited; a public relations and concept development firm. A communiqué will be issued at the end of the conference that will help enhance the standard and quality of education in the country.
