Lagos First Lady lauds WIMBIZ mentorship program

The First Lady of Lagos State, Dr. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu has lauded the mentorship initiative of the Women In Management, Business and Public Service (WIMBIZ), which is geared towards equipping young girls with the requisite tools to compete favourably with their male counterparts.

Speaking at the WIMBIZ “Big Sister Program”, a mentorship program held in Lagos, the First Lady, who was represented by Special Adviser to Mr. Governor on Education, Mrs. Oluwatosin Wahab, commended the organisation for efforts made to ensure that more women emerge as leaders in all spheres of life as well as contribute to nation building.

In her words, “In the last two decades, it is on record that WIMBIZ has done commendably well in serving as a platform to be reckoned with when it comes to empowering, and inspiring women through various program.”

She added, “We need more organizations to come up with various initiatives such as this program to support our girls and help them achieve their potentials as well as goals and aspirations”.
