Jumia announces 'Mobile Week Megathon' sale

Nigerian online shopping site for a wide range of electronics, fashion, home appliances and kid’s items, Jumia,

announced today, that it would be having a Mobile Week Megathon sale.

CEO’s of Jumia Nigeria, Jonathan Doerr and Jeremy Doutte, who made this known at a press conference, stated that the Mobile Week Megathon would be holding from June 1 – 7, 2015.

The megathon would include sales, large discounts and price slashes on various mobile devices and accessories.

According to Jumia, this sale will trump that of the popular Black Friday sale, which held last year, and resulted in many websites crashing due to the amount of traffic the sale generated.

This year’s sale will be considerably bigger since it will be lasting the length of a full week. Jumia also promises its customers the chance to purchase different brands of mobile phones at “incredible and jaw-dropping prices”.

The company also says all phones will come with 3GB of data, free WhatsApp for six months, free music streaming for one month, all courtesy of one of the company’s major partners for the event, MTN.

Other partners fro the week-long event include Innjoo, Infinix, Tecno, Samsung, Apple, Lenovo and LG.
