Gulder unveils world biggest poster

Nigerian Breweries Plc, makers of Gulder, the ultimate lager beer on Monday unveiled the world’s biggest promotion poster at the Sam Okpara Square, Enugu in Enugu State.

The company also used the event to reward about 125 journalists who participated in an endurance test to launch this year Gulder Ultimate search, which begins in September.

While every journalist won various gift items, the Managing Director and Editor in Chief of an Anambra State based Newspaper, National Light, Mr. Chuka Nnabuife won an Hyundai Elantra Salon car in the energy sapping competition.

Speaking, the Managing Director of Nigerian Breweries Plc, Nicolaas Vervelde said that the new poster is about 5, 300 Square Metre and is now the largest in the world.gulder-2

According to him, the poster is larger than the 4, 700 Square Metre poster achieved in Kochi, India in June, adding, “This feat is an attestation to the ultimate beer and ultimate man who stands up to be counted with his beer.”

Vervelde explained that the unveiling of the poster had enabled NBL to expand its frontiers with the biggest consumer promotion in the history of Gulder with over four million prizes to be won.

He noted that today’s unveiling is another showcase of Nigerian Breweries’ commitment to winning with Nigeria. “This commitment covers all aspects of our operations, our brands, our investments, our footprint, our people and our socio-economic impact,” he said.

Unveiling the poster, Enugu State Governor, Hon. Ifeanyi_Ugwuanyi commended the effort of Nigerian Breweries for kick starting the promotion, which is slated to take place in eight other centres across Nigeria.

The governor who was represented by the state Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Barrister Sam Nwobodo said that the government was so honoured that the world largest poster was unveiled in Enugu State.

According to him, the unveiling has come at a right time when the Rockefeller Foundation has just announced Enugu as one of the most resilient cities in the world. He said that Enugu occupied 56 position in the rating and it is the only city in Africa that shares the same space with cities like London and Chicago.

The governor however called on other corporate organisations to partner with the state government in its search to bring in more investors into the coal city. “The more the investors, the better for us and the Nigerian Breweries who has been on ground for many years,” he said.
