Gulder Ultimate Search promises delightful comeback

Nigerian Breweries’top reality television series, Gulder Ultimate Search (GUS), is likely to bounce back after a long break. If the disclosure made by the beer giant is anything to go by, Nigeria’s viewing public and would-be contestants should warm up for the valiant and engaging quest any time soon.

Making this disclosure recently during a media chat in Lagos, Nigerian Breweries Corporate Affairs Director, Sade Morgan, revealed that the adventurous show was rested as a result of logistics. She, however, assured that plans were in progress to return the event to the viewing pleasure of Nigerians.

She noted that the GUS series was the very first 100% local content reality television programme in Nigeria, adding that it was an endurance type of reality programme that highlighted the epic struggle of contestants and the dynamism of youth.

“The contestants’ struggles against themselves and the wild (nature), and their search for a hidden treasure that brings to the last person standing instant fame and fortune made the series impressively realistic,” she said

Recall that the GUS last season, which held in 2012 in Aguleri forest in Anambra State, had the contestants search for ‘The General’s Helmet’. Interestingly, the treasure was found by Chinedu Ubachukwu who was rewarded with N10million and a brand new Ford Explorer car.
