FirstBank MD conferred with Forbes’ Best of Africa award

First Bank of Nigeria Limited CEO, Dr. Adesola Adeduntan, has been honoured with the Best of Africa Award by Forbes Magazine. The award is in recognition of his contribution to the banking industry in Nigeria.

The award presentation was held by Forbes in conjunction with the Foreign Investment Network (FIN).

The event, an online roundtable discussion supported by the World Philanthropy Network, featured a keynote address by former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo.

According to a statement by Forbes, “Dr. Adeduntan believes strongly in the importance of doing well by doing good. In March 2020, he spoke at the Edinburgh School of Business about financial institutions’ role as drivers of financial inclusion. In his leadership role at FirstBank, Dr. Adeduntan is part of a 126-year legacy of sustained development-oriented services”

Commenting on the award on the bank’s LinkedIn page, the Firstbank boss dedicated the revered honour to the great team at the premier bank.

“This Forbes Best of Africa award is an incentive to do more in Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability, and I dedicate it to my colleagues at FirstBank who are committed to this course with me,” he said.

The Forbes Best of Africa Award is for business personalities with a record of creating and building great global businesses that have made far-reaching contributions to the development of Africa.
