Fidelity Bank honoured with Green Era Award
In recognition of its vibrant contribution in ensuring the reduction of greenhouse emissions and providing a suitable environment for its customers and business, Fidelity Bank Plc, a prominent and leading financial brand in Nigeria has been honoured with the prestigious 2014 Green Era award.
The award was conferred upon Fidelity Bank at an exquisite gala night event in Germany as part of the activities to commemorate the 2015 Green Economy Forum.
The organisers of the awards, Association of Other Ways Management and Consulting in a statement said that Fidelity Bank, having glowingly fulfilled all the conditions of the stipulated requirements and surpassed all other organisations was adjudged the winner of the award.
The organisers specifically said that the bank’s drive for long-term economic development; contribution to reduction in greenhouse emissions and ability to manage environmental risks in customers’ businesses, among others, won the award for the financial lender.
Reacting to this development, the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Fidelity Bank Plc, NnamdiOkonkwo, thanked the organisers of the event for honouring the bank.Okonkwo, who was represented by the Head, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Chris Nnakwe, said the award is a testament to the hard work and commitment the bank has made in its CSR initiatives and sustainability practice.
He stated that the financial institution, as a “Green Bank,” has consistently explored ways of making a difference towards a sustainable future.
“Through our tripod CSR philosophy; environment, education and health/social welfare, we are creating a sustainable society, one that will balance economic and social needs as well as environmental realities,” Mr Nnakwe said.
