Cannes Lions releases schedule for week-long festival
The schedule for this year’s Cannes Lion’s Festival, the week-long festival of creativity and awards, has been released. According to a statement from the organisers, the schedule covers both live and on-demand sessions for Cannes Lions Live, which is billed to take place between 21-25 June 2021, and can be viewed online.
“From this point on, you can see what’s happening each and every day across the entire week, get a taste for what’s coming by watching the trailers, and plan your whole experience around what interests you most,” Cannes organisers said in the statement.
It stated further: “Join the entire creative community for The Live Broadcast where you’ll watch the most anticipated creative benchmarking, as it happens, from our members-only area. Explore the next era of creativity and curate your sessions using our Creativity On Demand platform. Visit our Virtual World for community meet-ups, keynote speeches and some big surprises from your favourite brands.
“One added advantage of this year’s event is that you’ll be able to stream the awards live, while interacting with the most creative people and ideas from around the world.”
Speaking on the opportunities in the festivals, Mark read, CEO, WPP, said: “While the learning, networking and inspiration of the Cannes Lions Festival week is fantastic for the few who manage to get there, LIONS Membership will bring all that to a much more diverse, global and inclusive audience. WPP is delighted to support this initiative, making LIONS Membership available across our agencies.”
For the first time ever, the whole world can come together to watch the Cannes Lions awards – live.
“After The Live Broadcast of the Awards, get right into the analysis with The Debriefs – one hour specials exploring each individual Lion in detail, where our jurors and winners share the work that won, and why. Then, take a seat with us to understand what’s happening to creativity, and the wider context of the award-winning work being created with The Daily Agenda. Finally, we’ll give you a quick rundown of the top headlines from each day with our LIONS Wrap-up sessions to close out the show,” the statement read.
