Bolaji Okusaga floats Precise, a facilitation company

Former Managing Director at The Quadrant Company, Mr. Bolaji Okusaga, has set up a strategic communications and reputation management company called Precise to meet the needs of its numerous clients in the Integrated Marketing Communications industry.

Okusaga made the disclosure on Thursday at the Lagos PR Industry Gala & Awards with the theme: “Celebration of Success” at the Four Points by Sheraton Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.

According to him, the company is expected to start its operations fully by the first quarter of 2018, noting that it is a facilitation platform that would help its clients in providing step-forward solutions in the areas of strategic communications, reputation, design and management.

He noted that the company was borne out of the need to meet up with the ever changing trends and disruptive tendencies in the industry which have forced most clients to seek for newer solutions to their communications challenges in an era of uncertainty.

In his words:”As we speak, the IMC industry is in a flop. Everybody is trying to understand what the route to the future is; if you have got a vision to drive, I think this is the time to do that because we are in a very uncertain period.”

“Now what uncertainty does is that it puts up a challenge and an opportunity. For me, I see uncertainty as a great opportunity as this is the best time to take it and that is why we are setting up a facilitation platform called Precise. We don’t like to see it as an agency and in the days ahead I will be engaging again with you guys to discuss our model and our unique delivery pattern that will be a game changer within the industry.”

Okusaga said that the company would take advantage of the ever growing youth market which could easily be reached through telling them a compelling story that could resonate in their minds about the clients’ products or services.

The Founder of Precise, however, noted that its clients would cut across future oriented businesses, innovative startups and disruptive businesses seeking expression within the market space.

Okusaga stressed that the era of sending press releases and organizing media events were over as players within the industry do not consider them as fundamentally adding value to their clients.

According to him, “We are setting up this company because we understand the business environment and the fact that there are certain needs and nuances. We have been deliberate about crafting the vision, we have been deliberate about crafting the delivery solutions and the lines of service that will come with it; we have also been deliberate about evolving a unique revenue model that gets us compensated so that we can do this work on an ongoing basis that keeps the business sustainable even though it will continue to chase after disruptive tendencies within the market space.”

“One thing will remain critical which is Big Data and it will define the future because what it will throw up will be new insights that will shape the way producers produce goods, service providers deliver services which is already happening in the global scale and that is where we want to play as a company”

Asked about his experience as the Managing Director of The Quadrant Company and why he chose to float his own company at a time like this, Okusaga said: “Life is all about transition. It (TQC) was a brilliant place, a great place; I had fun doing it in the last 10 years and eight months at The Quadrant Company. There comes a time when even if you don’t go, you will be forced by the realities on ground to actually leave and what better time to do that than now?”
