Bluebird Communications Limited Peaks 20 Year Anniversary with “Letter from Hannah”

Bluebird Communications Limited stepped into the third decade of its brand marketing communication business journey in Nigeria, which was powerfully announced on Friday, July 24, 2015 with an anniversary commemoration stage play “Eniyan” at the prestigious Shell Hall of the prestigious MUSON CENTRE, Onikan, Lagos, South West Nigeria.

The group executive vice president, Mr. Kunle Ogunmefun led team, through a heart tending moral drama, “Eniyan”, literally translated “Human Being”, directed by celebrated Nigerian playwright, Wale Oguntokun, was rendered with loaded, no dull moment style, syntax and substance, well laced with pulsating dance, themed music and well-rehearsed event flow fit for distinguished audience of corporate big wigs in businesses across financial, automobile, oil and gas and marketing communication subsectors of Nigeria boisterous economy.

Present at the well-attended event, that though coincided with the all-important advertising association AAAN’s annual general meeting in Oshogbo, State of Osun, Nigeria, were the managing directors of Richardson Oil and Gas, Mr Akin Osuntokun, Skye Bank, Mr Timothy Oguntayo, Wema Bank, Mr Seun Oloketuyi, Toyota Nigeria, Mr Kunle Ade-Ojo, FCMB, Mr Ladi Balogun and Leadway Assurance among several C+ Suite personalities that graced the occasion.

In a brief talk at the full to the brim hall, the director, Convention on Business Integrity, Soji Apampa, successfully connected issues of contemporary business concerns in the Nigeria macroeconomic environment, concerns of business profit, social impact and inclusiveness. Fusing character and core values, Apampa was of the conviction that, “It is profit plus social impact that translates to sustainability, and palliatives only brings temporary relieves”, imploring individuals and corporate organisations to invest in defining things of good report for today, tomorrow and even unborn generations.

Although Apampa was not specific, but in the spirit of liberty, encouraged the cream de la cream of the society to learn from the allegorical characters of “Eniyan” – strength, beauty, wealth, character and others, lessons that was liberally ditched and evenly distributed across the very important personalities, male and female, just like the well served three-course-meal that was served; nutritious, abundant and pleasing with appropriate varieties of drink, and in local language parlance, “full ground remain”, leaving enough moral lessons to go round and tell generations of business people on the interconnectivity of every aspect of resources and humanity in a balance fit for enjoyable society.

The epic of the event, and appropriately the anchor that holds the Bluebird core values being celebrated at the event came with what a member of the audience, taunting the Bluebird media executive, Saheed Lawal, described as “Bluebird’s Letter from Hannah”, a narrative that extracted ‘drops of water’ from some guests’ eyes, though drowned in a follow up standing applause for Ogunmefun’s heart of gold.

Hannah’s emotional letter of appreciation, read by Mrs Dele George, the care merchant, daughter of Dr Ogbemudia, former governor of old mid-west region of Nigeria, the chief care taker of Little Saints Orphanage was an icing on a ‘good’ cake that flowed with artistic excellence, treatise of good corporate practice and commitment to a larger community .

Hannah, one of the two daughters of a highly placed society personality along with her sister were driven out of their homes late at night. To cut the long story short, the two siblings became inmates of the Little Saints Orphanage. The elder of the two girls were adopted by Mr. & Mrs Ogunmefun who saw her through high school and university with flying colours and by September this year the young girl will obtain her master’s degree in the United Kingdom.

The young girl painted pictures of what their life could have been, the several denials that the families of the Ogunmefun’s have suffered and the solid foundation that was laid for her future, future families and the larger society and said, “Thank you for providing a home and a future”.

Testimonials for Ogunmefun and his team at the event on partnership beyond business flowed freely, his focus, and his tenacity ( hence the nickname, Panaki) included among credible testimonies were that of the Group Managing Director, FCMB Group, Ladi Balogun, and that of Bluebird Communication’s first client, still a client till now, Leadway Assurance and numerous others.

No wonder the company has birthed thriving businesses like Intenciti Media – the media planning and buying arm; DigiEngage – a digital marketing and online business; Ribbons – perception managers; and the out of home collaboration, Pro-Vision Media.
