The 2019 African Quality Achievement Awards have been scheduled to hold on 23rd of October during the Africa quality congress at Sheraton Hotel and Towers, Ikeja, Lagos.

The award is an annual event aimed at celebrating leadership, innovation and creativity in quality management in Africa. It identifies, recognises and rewards companies, personalities and products that apply quality culture and quality management best practices to the analysis, planning and implementation and control of policies designed to achieve corporate objectives in both profit and non-profit making organisations in Africa.

According to Ijeoma Emeka, Secretary General of the Award Committee, the event was initiated by African quality institute in collaboration with world quality alliance, a global quality organisation consultant with the support of chartered quality institute (UK) and pan African quality organisation.

Mrs. Emeka said: “The quality journey is one that all organisations travel; whether consciously or unconsciously, under the title of quality of something else, all organisations use and need quality. As competition and complexity of the global market grows, more organisations are embracing the need to think differently and inspire their employees. Some look to grow the number of tools and techniques at their disposal so that they may find solutions they seek.

“Others may search for implementation strategies that produce the best results, and still others may look for methods to sustain the results they’ve already achieved. Those organisations that are established in the journey understand that the key to their success lies within the culture of their organisation.”

She continued: “Such organisations have found ways to establish transform and sustain environment in which innovation is fostered, leadership is shared, and all are aligned to a common vision. They have seen the results that these cultures produce and creativity they inspire. They have discovered the key to establishing a culture of quality.

“The influence quality, today, is broader than any other time in history. The ability it has to transform organisations and communities continue to be demonstrated in a growing number of ways. It is within this setting that the 2019 edition is designed. It’s going to be a forum of ideas and international network of thought leaders, experts and peers who are eager to share their best practices, tested solutions and proven results.”

She stressed that African quality congress 2019 was set to be an informative and inspiring day of new idea, stimulating debate and renowned speakers, dedicated to driving forward the quality agenda, adding that the congress would be providing delegates with greater understanding of how operational effectiveness and efficiency translate to vital organisational success. The conference is aimed at anyone looking to improve their organisational performance and networking opportunities.

It was highlighted that the event would also be published in major African media like African investor, African report, African business, and business African journal as well as major electronic media that have international coverage.
