Former PepsiCo CMO, Robertos Rios joins Schwan

Robertos Rios, a former global Chief Marketing Officer, CMO, of Pepsi has been named new CMO at Schwan’s Co.

Rios, according to Dimitrios Smyrnios, Chief Executive Officer at Schwan’s Co, will be tasked to oversee the digital transformation of the brand.

“As the food industry continues to rapidly change, we are particularly excited about the role Roberto will play in accelerating our company’s digital transformation, building on the strength of our brands, catching trends and meeting evolving consumer preferences and customer needs,” Food Business News quoted Smyrnios to have said.

Rios’, while working with Pepsi, oversaw well-known products such as Pepsi, Mountain Dew, Gatorade, Aquafina and LifeWater.

He held marketing positions at several PepsiCo divisions and subsidiaries, including the Frito-Lay snacks division and in countries such as Venezuela, Colombia, Brazil and Mexico.

Rios’ most recent work saw him lead Pepsi’s global ‘For the Love of it’ campaign amid a shakekup of Pepsi’s top team led by the elevation of Laxman Narasimhan to the post of global chief commercial officer.
