Veteran broadcast journalist Barrister Stella Din-Jacob has been appointed as the Executive Director News, of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), effective immediately.
This appointment underscores the federal government’s commitment to strengthening national broadcasting as a platform for unity, cohesion, and diplomacy.
Barrister Jacob, affectionately known as “The General” by her colleagues, brings over two decades of senior broadcast news experience to her new role.
Prior to joining TVC News in 2018, she honed her skills at Silverbird Group, Minaj Broadcast Group, and Channels Television. During her tenure at TVC News, she demonstrated exceptional leadership and journalistic acumen, leaving an indelible mark on the organization.
Under her leadership, TVC News rose to become one of the top three most-watched news stations in Nigeria.
She successfully steered a large newsroom with correspondents across over 30 states and supervised extensive election coverage, including the 2023 polls. Her contributions to the news industry have earned her numerous accolades, including being named No. 1 Woman in Journalism in Africa by WiJAfrica in 2024.
Victoria Abiola Ajayi, Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of TVC Communications, extended warm felicitations to Din-Jacob, saying: “While we are saddened to see her move on, we are extremely proud that her journey continues in service to the nation.
On behalf of the management team and all of us at TVC Communications, I warmly congratulate Stella on this well-deserved appointment and wish her the very best as she takes on this national responsibility.
