M&C Saatchi names Al-Qassab as global CEO

M&C Saatchi, a prominent advertising agency, has appointed Zaid Al-Qassab as its new global Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The agency announced that Al-Qassab’s tenure will officially begin on May 13th, pending the completion of standard regulatory procedures.
Upon his appointment, Zillah Byng-Thorne, who has been serving as the acting Executive Chair, will transition back to her role as the Non-Executive Chair of the Company.
Al-Qassab brings a wealth of experience to his new position, having previously served as the Chief Marketing Officer at Channel 4, one of the UK’s leading free-to-air public broadcast television channels. During his time at Channel 4, Al-Qassab was responsible for overseeing marketing, digital, product, communications, advertising, and media operations. He also led the company’s in-house creative agency, 4creative, as well as its digital content and brand entertainment agency, 4Studio.
Prior to his role at Channel 4, Al-Qassab held the position of Chief Brand & Marketing Officer at BT plc, where he played a pivotal role in shaping the marketing strategies for brands such as BT, EE, Plusnet, and Openreach. Prior to his tenure at BT, Al-Qassab spent over two decades at Procter & Gamble, where he held various marketing and commercial leadership roles, ultimately serving as the Managing Director of the Health & Beauty division for the UK & Ireland.
In addition to his corporate responsibilities, Al-Qassab currently serves as a Non-Executive Director of the Advertising Standards Authority, a role he has held since 2018.
