The Procter & Gamble Company (P&G) has announced a major leadership transition as Shailesh Jejurikar takes over as Chairman of the Board while retaining his position as President and Chief Executive Officer, marking a new chapter in the global consumer goods giant’s leadership journey.

The appointment, which takes effect on August 1, 2026, follows the planned retirement of Jon Moeller, the company’s Executive Chairman, who will step down from the Board on July 31, 2026, before concluding his 38 year career with P&G on August 14, 2026.

P&G announced the leadership transition through its official LinkedIn platform, describing the move as part of its continued focus on leadership continuity, strategic execution and long term value creation.

Jejurikar, who joined P&G in 1989, brings decades of experience across multiple business categories, markets and operational functions to the expanded role. Since becoming part of the company’s global leadership team in 2014, he has played key roles in shaping growth strategies across several of P&G’s major businesses.

Throughout his career, Jejurikar has contributed significantly to the expansion of P&G’s Fabric Care and Home Care businesses, leading initiatives across major markets including North America, Europe, Asia and Latin America.

Beyond category leadership, he has also supported the company’s transformation efforts across critical operational areas, including Supply Chain, Information Technology and Global Business Services, helping strengthen efficiency, innovation and business performance.

Commenting on the transition, Jejurikar acknowledged Moeller’s decades of contribution to P&G, describing his leadership as instrumental to the company’s evolution and global success.

“I want to thank Jon for his many years of tireless and steady leadership at P&G, having served in key roles including Executive Chairman, Chief Executive Officer, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer throughout his 38 years of dedicated service to the company,” Jejurikar said.

He added that Moeller’s strategic direction, commitment and deep understanding of the company’s values helped shape the organisation into what it is today.

“Jon’s strategic vision has been instrumental in shaping the company P&G is today, and we have benefited from his unwavering courage and his profound care for this institution and its people,” he stated.

Moeller’s departure closes a significant era for P&G, having occupied several of the company’s most influential leadership positions during his nearly four decades of service. Before becoming Executive Chairman, he served as Chief Executive Officer, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer, helping guide the company through major periods of transformation and growth.

Meanwhile, Jejurikar’s elevation reflects P&G’s confidence in his ability to lead the company into its next phase of development. His expanded responsibilities combine board leadership with executive oversight, allowing him to continue driving the company’s strategic priorities while maintaining operational focus.

As Chairman and CEO, Jejurikar is expected to build on P&G’s established growth framework, strengthen its global brands, advance innovation and sustain the company’s competitive position within the fast evolving consumer goods sector.

The leadership transition comes at a time when global consumer companies are navigating changing consumer behaviour, technological disruption, supply chain transformation and increasing demand for sustainable business practices.

With Jejurikar now positioned to lead both the Board and executive management team, P&G is reinforcing continuity while preparing for future opportunities across its global markets.
