Meet MARKETING EDGE panelist @ Annual Marketing Stakeholders Summit 2021 – Marie Okorie

Marie Okorie is a creative spirit, a poet, digital strategist, content specialist and storyteller. She is currently part of the Digital Media team of Africa’s foremost leading financial house where she’s changing the narrative one story at a time.

Marie began her career in Business Consulting where she learnt the ropes of business ethics. She then went on to have a brief stint in e-commerce where she through the power of storytelling and emotional marketing was able to record wins and drive massive sales for the now-defunct ShapeYou Africa; a women’s shapewear brand.

Marie took a break before delving into the world of brand and marketing communications. During this almost-one-year break, she strengthened her storytelling prowess and got certified in concept origination with focus in copywriting. She also took on the task to learn Brand strategy.

Putting her skills and knowledge to good use, Marie, who was the Digital Strategy Manager at the time, taught copywriting and strategy in a school of Advertising while also working on Nigerian brands at the same time.

Marie then worked as the team lead of Content and Strategy for a’s digital marketing growth hacking company. She later joined Lagos Digital Academy as the Business Development Manager where she used her passion for networking and creating value to find new paths to bring life to the vision of the Academy.

She has worked on various brands, including The CHI brands, KEEXS, UBA, REDTV, Trinnicle, Tranos, purple Academy, Behance, Union Bank, Carlo Rossi, PAGA, CSAdvance, CpsConnect to mention a few.

Marie, a two-time author, a soon-to-be-published novelist and an award-winning motivational speaker who is committed to helping young people understand the journey of growth and self.

In her free time, she likes to ponder over artworks at galleries and host conversation sessions for young people.
