Who is offering Nigeria’s best Black Friday deals?

As the world embraces the pre-Christmas sales bonanza popularly known as Black Friday sales deals, Nigerian online and offline shopping outlets are not left out as they jostle to outdo each other by announcing mouth-watering discounts in anticipation of Black Friday. The discount in this year’s Black Friday goes as high as 95 percent.

MARKETING EDGE investigation revealed that aside global online shopping giants like Amazon, Argos, Nigerian retail offline and online shopping outlets like Spar, Shoprite, Jumia, Konga amongst others are also aggressively wooing shoppers with their Best Black Friday deals.

For instance, Spar has announced a whopping 70 percent off to Nigerians on its Black Friday offerings beginning from November 25-28 2016. Shoprite is offering a $20 cut from the purchase of any product that is sold for a $100 to its numerous customers.

The Shoprite Group of Companies is Africa’s largest food retailer; it operates 1855 corporate and 359 franchise outlets in 15 countries across Africa with over 15 outlets in Nigeria.

Unlike like Shoprite, the deals offered by Spar apart from the 70% discounts includes an offer to customers to exchange their used phones for as new with the payment of the different. Spar also offer services and home delivery to give the customers a seamless experience.

Following a record patronage by over 2.3 million Nigerians during last year’s Black Friday, Jumia whose Black Friday deal is branded Yakata, announced a 12 day shopping spree for this year’s Black Friday. The deal began November 14, 2016, and it will last until 25th. Jumia is offering a discount from 24% and above to customers buying phones and other household items.

Konga is not left behind in the Black Friday frenzy. The online shopping giant has equally announced some mind blowing offers, including 20 to 95 percent pay cut on its certain products.

Konga store has dedicated 3 days bumper sales for its Black Friday Sales with its big offers which is up to 95% discount on Music, Movies & Games, as well as up to 85% discount on Beauty & Personal Products.

Other offers includes up to 70% discount on Generators and Automotive Gadgets, up to 70% discount on Kid & Baby Wear as well as Toys, up to 65% discount on Women’s Fashion, p to 67% discount on Men’s Fashion, up to 25% discount on Kitchen & Home Appliances, while it has up to 20% discount on Electronics, up to 20% discount on Laptops & Computers, up to 20% discount on Phones & Tablets.

Konga also offers free nationwide shipping for all orders of N5,000 and above in a bid to vive its numerous customers cross country a remarkable experience during the period. Konga.com is Nigeria’s largest online mall. It was launched in July 2012.

JiJi.ng on the other hand is offering up to 70% pay cut of its Black Friday deals to its numerous customers across the country on several items and especially on phones.

For instance the popular Blackberry Q10, Infinite Note 2, Samsung Galaxy S6, iPhone6 and Tecno Phantom 5 are sold at give away prices far lesser than the actual price with a 70% bonus.

Customers buying the Blackberry Q10 will get it for half the price which is N16,000 – N23,000 rather than the actual price of N45,000 while for the Infinite Note 2, JiJi.ng will be selling the phone for N20,000-N23,000.

Also JiJi.ng is selling one of the most popular phone models Samsung Galaxy S6 for as low as between N50,000 – N60,000 for the pre-used phone.

For iPhone that is sold for N180,000, JiJi.ng is selling it for N80,000- N100,00 which is part of the Black Friday bonus deals while Tecno Phantom 5 is sold on JiJi.ng between N18,000 to N25,000 than it is sold outside at the price of N57,500.
