What were the Real Legacies of Steve Jobs?

The great strides and legacies associated with Steve Jobs are enormous, so compact that even in 5 years his names still rings the bell in the globe, in as much as technology is concerned and will continue to ring the bell.
Steve Jobs still dominates online discussion, more famous than Bill Gates, the Founder of Microsoft, the technology multinational company, Tim Cook the CEO of Apple Incorporated, maker of iPhone, Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Facebook, the largest social media platform, and the likes of Tesla and SpaceX CEO, Elon Musk, according to Google Trends.

Certainly, by cloning and emulating the intellects of Steve Jobs in our productive ventures within the technology ecosystem would tantamount to ingenuity, as well as a source of inspiration to potential technology enthusiast in Nigeria.

Who is Steve Jobs?
How well do you know Steve Jobs? You may have memorized one of his quotes or perhaps hear people talk about him. An icon like Steve Jobs is not someone who you can just quote of his witty sayings without having an interest in knowing him. You need to know more about Steve in as much as you talk about world’s most influential persons, specifically within the technology space.

The genius called Steve died five years ago after suffering from pancreatic cancer at 56. He was the co-founder and CEO of Apple Incorporated, the maker of the popular iPhone which driving lots of people crazy. I think that’s one of his legacies and would always be remembered.

Few months after Steve resigned from his role at the company as the CEO, he handed the mantle of leadership to Tim Cook (I so much like his name) the present Chief Executive Officer of Apple Incorporated. Tim was very close to Steve before his demise. He was not joust close, they have been friends for long, surprisingly, Tim offered a portion of his liver to Steve before he finally died.

It’s quite Appalling that he died at very early stage; he is not as old as Bill Gate.
No doubt about the competencies of Tim Cook, ever since he assumed the role of a CEO the growth of Apple has been significant. In my views, it’s just difficult for him not to follow the footsteps of his former boss.
However, Apple’s value has grown from $50bn to more than $600bn, if down a little from its peak of $775bn in February 2015.

What are his Legacies?
Paying Attention to Details
As if they learned that from Steve, he didn’t joke with details.
Steve Jobs will always tell his employees “I’m going to run a class and teach everyone here how to use Keynote the way I do so that you can do this. Because it matters, every detail matters.”

Inculcating attention to detail in your business will prove significant when the company begins to gain ground in the long run. Employees across business should be focusing on getting it right all day, every day. All CEOs will agree with me on this subject, and I could vehemently state that there is much value attached to employees who pay attention to details. Interestingly, paying attention to details is one of my greatest strengths.

Innovation
I see him as Mark Zuckerberg and Uber CEO of those days he was alive. However, I am optimistic that Nigerians too are becoming innovative over the years because a growing number of young Nigerian entrepreneurs are creating innovative businesses, and more importantly, are not waiting for government connections to create this change.

Steve did things differently and was confident enough to invent, innovate and change the world. Current USA President describes Steve as one of the greatest of American innovators  that are brave enough to think differently.
It is glaring that he entirely altered our perception today about the world. He showcases this by building one of the most successful companies in the world today, “he exemplified the spirit of American ingenuity,” Barack Obama notes in his tribute to the late charismatic leader. And by turning his talents to storytelling, he has brought joy to millions of children and grownups alike.

Steve was fond of saying that he lived every day like it was his last. Because he did, he transformed our lives, redefined entire industries, and achieved one of the rarest feats in human history: he changed the way each of us sees the world.”

He Thinks Differently

Before any invention takes place, you must have thought differently, therefore the two works interchangeable. Successful entrepreneurs live Steve Jobs understand this better than most. Your mindset affects what you believe is possible, and that will dictate what actions you take in your life and business. Your thoughts will either help or hurt your business. The way you think is one of your most valuable assets as an entrepreneur.
Was Steve thinking differently? Of course, he did. I don’t want to bore you with lots of his inventions.
“He thinks differently,” says Manatt Digital Media CEO Peter Csathy of Musk. “The kinds of things he’s involved in. He’s disrupting the industry, but that’s not enough. That’s just his morning job.

Conclusion
Here should be you take away from this piece:
⦁ Start thinking differently
⦁ Pay attention to details
⦁ Be innovative
⦁ Start solving problems.
⦁ Have a good succession planning, just as Steve handed over to Tim Cook.
