Wema Bank Appoints New Directors

Wema Bank Plc has announced the appointment of four new directors to its team. The new directors include Mrs. Abolanle Matel-Okoh and Mr. Babatunde Kasali (non-executive directors); Mrs. Folake Sanu and Mr. Wole Akinleye (Executive Directors). The new directors are coming on board with over 10 decades of combined experience with significant contributions to the banking industry and the growth of the nation’s economy, the banking brand said.

According to the statement , this brings the number of directors on the board of the bank to 14 and shows its continued commitment to the sustenance of corporate governance and adequate gender representation.

The Managing Director, Wema Bank, Mr. Segun Oloketuyi, expressed confidence that the appointment would bring quality representation to the board as well as support the management of the bank in its drive to build upon its recent achievements while positioning itself for further growth.

He thanked the outgoing Director, Mr. Ramesh Hathiramani, for his immense contributions and the value he brought to bear during his time on the board.

Established in 1945, Wema Bank, Nigeria’s oldest surviving indigenous bank, had been offering its customers financial advisory services and range of products in retail and the SME banking, commercial and corporate banking, it added.
