
Trade Minister reaffirms commitment to economic diversification as ADVAN reward marketing excellence

The 13th edition of the Advertisers Association of Nigeria (ADVAN) African Awards for Marketing Excellence was a night of glitz, glamour, and industry celebration, bringing together top professionals to recognize outstanding achievements in marketing and advertising. Themed “Controlled Chaos: Mastering Marketing in a Hyper-Connected World,” the event, held on February 22, 2025, featured the Honourable Minister of Industry, Trade, and Investment, Dr. Jumoke Oduwole, as a distinguished guest.
In her address, the trade and investment minister emphasized the critical role of strategic communication and impactful storytelling in shaping industries, driving consumer engagement, and fostering economic growth. She reaffirmed Nigeria’s commitment to economic diversification and digital transformation, highlighting the immense potential within the creative and advertising sector.
Reflecting on the first hundred days of the ministry’s efforts, she reiterated the government’s resolve to enhance the ease of doing business, assuring industry stakeholders that their concerns had been acknowledged. She aligned these efforts with President Bola Tinubu’s eight-point agenda, emphasizing the administration’s dedication to creating an environment where businesses can start, scale, and deliver strong returns on investment.

She noted that the country’s competitive edge in the services sector made it imperative for brands to tell compelling stories that resonate globally.
