To reiterate its commitment to bettering the society and promoting the health and well-being of its teeming customers, leading quick service restaurant, Tastee Fried Chicken has taken strategic steps to tackle hunger in the state through its Tackle Hunger and Walk-A-Thon initiatives.

The recently concluded Walk-A-Thon which held on Saturday 11th December, 2021 is a charity led initiative launched to create awareness, promote general health and well-being, and to give back to the society while encouraging others to do the same.

Led by the Group Managing Director, Tastee Fried Chicken, Mrs. Olayinka Pamela Adedayo, the 60-minute walk kicked off from the TFC Headquarters on Oyin Jolayemi Street in the heart of Victoria Island through Ademola Adetokunbo, Ajose Adeogun, and back to the Headquarters through Oko Awo.

Commenting on the Tackle Hunger initiative, Executive Chairman, Tastee Fried Chicken, Adekunle Adedayo said: “We know how difficult it is for some people to feed even once a day, speaking less of affording a healthy three square meal. So, the Tackle Hunger initiative is just our way of giving back to society, we have mapped out a schedule that ensures that every month we reach out to the less privileged and orphanages. This is something that we have been doing, but this time around, we are doubling it because we want others to be aware that there is a need for us all to tackle hunger.”

Chief Operating Officer, Tastee Fried Chicken, Fowoke Akinleye who in her remarks urged other corporate bodies to join in the fight against hunger by gifting meals this Christmas noted that provisions have been made for meal vouchers which can be redeemed at any TFC outlet.
She said: “We have always had something like this, but this is the first time we are calling it a walk-a-thon and we intend to do it every year going forward and we are tying it to charity. We want people to know that they can come to us and buy vouchers that they can give to anyone on the road and the vouchers can be used to get food at any of our outlets. The Tackle Hunger/ Gift a Tastee meal is also a major aspect of today’s walk.”

Buttressing the need to “put a smile” on someone’s face this Christmas, Brand Manager, Tastee Fried Chicken, Onyeka Ezeamama noted that the initiatives were launched in strict adherence to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals 2: Zero Hunger by gifting meals and creating awareness, even as they as well promote the physical and mental well-being of the people.
