O2 Academy Lagos marks Open Day, awards three scholarships worth 1 million Naira

In a bid to help more Nigerian youths become employable and employers of labour, 02Academy Lagos has awarded three young Nigerians; Scholarships to the tune of over One Million Naira to pursue their creative careers in the Integrated Marketing Communication Industry.

It was indeed a genuine case of right-time-right-place, for three candidates who attended O2 Academy’s Open Day on Saturday, January 15, 2022, as all returned home from the event with full scholarships to study their courses of choice at O2 Academy Lagos, Nigeria’s leading creative hub.

The academy opened its doors to the public to come and experience “funducation” – O2 Academy’s training philosophy of blending fun and education to unlock creativity in students – and as expected, the next generation of creatives trooped in from all corners of Lagos. After a creative challenge and a rather captivating presentation by the candidates to a Panel of Judges comprised of seven industry veterans, The O2 Academy scholarship scheme was won by three young creatives (Adeyeye Okikijesu, Adepoju Emmanuel, and Popoola Seyi Dolapo).

In an interview with Marketingedge on the event, Ozone Mbanefo, the Provost of O2 Academy Lagos, said “This is what we believe in, giving talents a leg up to chase their dreams and in turn add value to those around them, be it their employers, the brands they work on or the society in general. I will also implore the leaders in the industry to remain committed to the growth of our industry by sponsoring some promising young minds to be more employable and employers of labour”.

He reaffirmed O2 Academy’s commitment to her vision to impact six million Nigerian youths, making them more employable and employers of labour.

It was an exciting experience to see the winners of the O2 Academy Scholarship Scheme express their gratitude for the generous gesture of the academy and were certain that after their training they will be highly valuable resources for the Nigerian integrated marketing communications industry.
