NBC named Manufacturing Company of the Year
… Wins ESQ Nigerian Legal Awards
Non-alcoholic beverage giant, Nigerian Bottling Company Limited (NBC) has been named Manufacturing Company of the Year in the Soft Drinks Category of the 2017 Guardian Manufacturing Excellence Award. The company also won the ‘Best Legal Team in the Manufacturing Sector for 2017’ at the ESQ Nigerian Legal Awards.
The Guardian Manufacturing Excellence Award is organized by The Guardian Newspaper, in collaboration with the African Development Studies Centre. This year’s event took place at the prestigious Eko Hotel, in Lagos while the ESQ Nigerian Legal Awards, organized by ESQ Legal Practice magazine was held at Landmark Event Centre, Oniru, Victoria Island recently.
Speaking during the Guardian Manufacturing Excellence Award, the Honourable Minister of State for Industry, Trade and Investment. Aisha Abubakar, representative of the Vice President of Nigeria, stated that the manufacturing sector remains a key driver for industrialization and national development, and recipient companies deserved to be recognized for their contributions to the growth of the sector and the Nigerian economy.
In a company statement on the award, NBC Legal, Public Affairs and Communications Director, Sade Morgan, said, “As a distinguished sector player and industry leader, the award is a recognition of NBC’s extensive transformational work, product innovation, investment in infrastructure development and society shared value initiatives”.
The Manufacturing Excellence Awards recognizes organizations that developed the most innovative and ground-breaking products and ideas in their operations and services in the Nigerian manufacturing sector, thereby contributing immensely to the overall growth, development and sustainability of the Nigerian economy, despite adverse business and economic challenges.
In addition, the award showcases manufacturing as a key driver of economic growth and identifying organizations and individuals that are driving and advancing the course of manufacturing in Nigeria.
In the same vein, the ESQ Nigerian Legal Awards celebrates legal departments and law firms’ contributions to the growth and development of the legal profession in Nigeria, following their strategic importance and critical role of strengthening and promoting good corporate governance practice in organizations.
