MTN Group President elected as GSMA Board member
MTN Group President & CEO, Ralph Mupita, has been elected as one of the GMSA board members to serve from January 2021 through December 2022.
The group boss stated that the new position provides him an opportunity to be part of GSMA’s journey to unlock the full power of connectivity so that people, industry and society thrive as a pan Africa company that is at the forefront of digital transformation within Africa.
Commenting on the new position, GSMA Director General, Mats Granryd, stated: “Our efforts are dedicated across three areas: industry knowledge, technological advancements and human progress. We do this by bringing people together, sharing trusted expertise and curating marketplaces for buyers and sellers.”
The GSMA is a global organisation unifying the mobile industry. GSMA working Groups have gathered the industry to solve practical problems. This technology work supports the whole mobile ecosystem by creating framework, standards and cross-industry solutions. Areas of focus include roaming, fraud, security 5G IoT and collaboration with adjacent sectors for more than 30 years.
