MTN Foundation donates to orphanage

In line with its Orphanage Support Initiative and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), MTN Foundation has donated food and household items to orphanage homes across Nigeria.

“This is an initiative that the MTNF embarks on annually in collaboration with key stakeholders,” MTN wrote on its official Instagram page.

MTN, the telecommunications giant disclosed further that 20 orphanages across the country, benefited from the initiative. Among the orphanages visited were Bab-Es-Salam Home and Little Saints Orphanage in Lagos, Nigeria.

Aside improving the life of vulnerable orphans across the country, the initiative also touches the lives of Nigerians in the area of health, education and economic empowerment on a sustainable basis.

MTN Foundation was incorporated in 2004 to drive MTNN’s various CSR initiatives commissioned in May 2005. It was funded by up to 1% Profit After Tax from MTNN for projects and over N18bn has been committed to MTNF projects to date.

Having partnered government and multilateral agencies, the Foundation has over 550 project sites in 36 States, including the FCT.
