He began his organized Private Sector professional career with the Leventis Group, which he joined in 1992 as Trainee Manager in the Motors Division.

His core marketing specialization commenced with joining Lever Brothers Nigeria, now Unilever Nigeria, for a second full term management traineeship program in 1993. Having trained and cut his marketing teeth as Brand Manager on brands such as Sunlight, Brillant, Blue Band, Planta, Oroyo, TreeTop, Lipton etc. in the Detergents and Foods Divisions of LBN at different times, he left to join SmithKline Beecham Nigeria, now GSK, in 1997 as Brand Manager of the company’s biggest brand asset, Panadol, which he managed until 2001.

Kayode remained on the board until 2011 when he voluntarily resigned to join Rosabel Leo Burnnet as its first non-founder MD/CEO.

As a creative leader and a super talent, he led the transformation of this Agency for three years, strengthening its operational efficiency and boosting its Creative credentials before leaving voluntarily to run his own business, 1201 Brandsway Limited.

In his advertising career and with a proven track record of helping to drive the strategic vision of the brands while creatively leading marketing with ideation and execution, Kayode has impacted many local, national and international brands, a few of which are Nestle Milo, Indomie, Gulder, Lucozade, Sterling Bank, FCMB, Samsung, Coca-Cola, Seamans Schnapps, Toyota, Elephant Cement, Huggies, Soulmate, International Breweries, Inlaks Limited etc.

As service to the industry, Kayode has been a much-sought after resource person for over a decade, facilitating training programs for ARCON, AAAN, PAU/LBS, Client organizations etc.

He was a member of the 6th ARCON Council and had served on the council’s Advertising Standards Panel (ASP). Kayode has also been of invaluable service to the Association of Advertising Agencies of Nigeria (AAAN), on which board he served indifferent capacities for 12 years.

In addition to serving on several of its standing and adhoc committees, Kayode was the President of the Association between 2016 and 2018.

Today, Kayode remains a guiding light, whose voice and opinion is often sought on critical industry matters.
