McCann has appointed Andrés Ordóñez as its global chairman, moving the agency’s outgoing chief creative officer into a senior leadership position amid a fresh wave of executive changes across Omnicom’s advertising network.

The elevation comes against the backdrop of another significant transition at the agency.

This is because, according to Ad Age, two weeks earlier, Tyler Turnbull, McCann’s global chief executive officer, intends to leave the agency for WPP Creative, where he is expected to assume the top executive role in March 2027.

With this, Turnbull will succeed Jon Cook, who is set to depart the position, as WPP Creative prepares for a change at the helm.

Consequently, Ordóñez’s new appointment adds another dimension to the unfolding leadership realignment across major global advertising networks.
