Marketing Edge visits orphanage, donates food items

As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities and ways of giving back to the society, MARKETING EDGE, a frontline brand and marketing magazine in Nigeria has donated food items to Saint Monica’s Orphanage Home, located on Victor Odunaiya Street, off Agbado Road, Oke Ayo Bus-stop in the Iju- Ishaga area of Lagos State.

Among the items donated were cartons of Peak Milk, Kellogg’s coco pops, Munch It snacks, veleta wine, Molfix diapers, Premier soap, Canoe detergent and a bag of Labana Rice.

Amos Oladele, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the company, while presenting the items, said the visit by MARKETING EDGE had become a tradition, explaining that the magazine was able to achieve its CSR through collaboration with various brands.

“We wish we could come with more things, but please just accept this from us as a token from both our organisation and the various brands that have partnered with us,” said Oladele.

Expressing her gratitude to MARKETING EDGE, Therase Marie, a servant in the Home, commended the magazine for its “generosity and thoughtfulness”.

She prayed that God would bless those who took a part in the donation, adding that the prayers of the vulnerable orphans would help “us individually and collectively.”

According to her, “Jesus was born poor, lived poor and died poor. That is why God always blesses those who care for the poor.”

Marie further disclosed that some of the kids were given out for adoption, when they were many. Working with the state’s social welfare service, Marie stated that the processes of adoption are usually documented.

“We’re always careful who we give the child to. We don’t just give anybody,” said Marie.

Companies that partnered with MARKETING EDGE through products donation included PZ Cussons Nigeria Plc, Intercontinental Distilleries Limited, Hayat Kimya Nigeria Limited, Dufil (a subsidiary of Tolaram Group) and FrieslandCampina WAMCO Nigeria Plc.
