MARKETING EDGE Editor appointed into EPICA jury

MARKETING EDGE, Nigeria’s leading brands and marketing publication has received another major international endorsement following the appointment of its Editor, Joseph Asuquo Ekeng  as a Juror ahead of the 2018 edition of the Epica award.

EPICA is one of the highly coveted advertising awards globally. Established in 1987, Epica Awards is the only creative award judged by editors and journalists (instead of creatives), drawn from more than 60 magazines and websites around the world.

According to Lucía Ongay, Global Press Manager of the Epica Awards, who signed the letter, being an Epica Jury Member also gives exclusive access to Epica Press Club, Creative Library and an opportunity to be part of a worldwide community of journalists writing about creativity.

And of course it also offers an exclusive privilege of judging thousands of creative works from around the world. The judging process begins in October.

Mr Ekeng, a leading brands writer in Nigeria has been a journalist for about 15 years. He started reporting brands and marketing two years ago when he joined MARKETING EDGE publications, publisher of MARKETING EDGE magazine and www.marketingedge.com.ng

Within the period he has distinguished himself in the industry by reporting on topical issues that affect the brands and marketing sector and also through his write-ups, set agenda for the industry.

Ekeng is a graduate of the Nigerian Institute of Journalism (NIJ) and also bagged his HND from Yaba College of Technology. He is also a fellow of the Bloomberg Media Initiative Africa Executive Training Programe. He has attended several seminars and workshops in in Nigeria and abroad.

Epica’s aim is to reward outstanding creativity and help agencies, production companies, media consultancies, photographers and design studios to develop their reputations beyond their national borders, attracting thousands of entries from more than 70 countries.

The Epica award holds a major attraction for many Nigerian agencies. A couple of Nigerian agencies have recorded a decent outing at the award including Insight Publicis which won gold in 2016. Noah’s Ark repeated same feat last year.

Entry for this year’s Epica opens on July 31st and closes September 30th.
