Marketing Edge donates food stuffs, gift items to Orphanage

Nigeria’s leading brand and marketing magazine, MARKETING EDGE, has donated food stuffs, several valuable products and items to Saint Monica’s Orphanage Home in the Iju- Ishaga area of Ogun, as a way of identifying with the less privileged in the society this festive season.

While presenting the gift items to the orphanage, Senior Marketing and Business Development Executive, MARKETING EDGE, Miss Ogechi Odigbo, said that the gesture was embarked upon to touch the lives of the children as well as celebrate with them.

According to Odigbo, the visit by MARKETING EDGE is a tradition which the reputable publishing house has sustained over the years as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities and as a way of giving back to the society.

She noted that the philanthropic initiative was borne out of the need to appreciate God for sustaining the organization and its staff thus far and to acknowledge and support the great work which the orphanage had been doing.

The delegation was received at the Saint Monica’s Orphanage Home by Rev. Sister Christiana Onah who was ably represented by Miss. Promise Iyoriobhe.

Expressing her gratitude to the management of MARKETING EDGE, Rev. Onah, prayed that God will continually lift the organization higher for their show of love.

She, however, lamented the neglect and lack of care for the less privileged children demonstrated by governments at all levels.

In her words, “I feel very happy at this gesture coming especially at this time. To us, it is God’s divine providence and meaningful contributions from people like you that keeps us afloat.”

“We only depend on what people give to us here and God has been able to help us through various denotations from kind hearted Nigerians. All along, it has not been really easy but God has been faithful. We have 30 children in the orphanage, some are in boarding schools, we pay their school fees, buy books and uniforms for them. This is aside paying staff salaries and other emoluments. Yet, there has not been any form of assistance coming from government; but God has been using people like you to help us”, Onah added.

Companies that partnered with MARKETING EDGE through product donation included Sona Group, Friesland Campina WAMCO Nigeria Plc and Hayat Kimya Nigeria; makers of Molfix.
