MAN seeks policy consistency for industrial growth

The Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN) has called on policymakers to be consistent to aid ease of doing business in the economy.

Mansur Ahmed, President of the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria, who made this call, blamed the lack of consistency in the enactment of policies for the difficulty experienced by manufacturers in keeping their operational cost low and profitable.

Mr. Ahmed said: “Inconsistent policies, power supply constraints and public infrastructure deficiency are some of the issues we have been facing in this industry. The multiplicity of taxes and levies, importation barriers both on monetary angle and the infrastructural aspect which makes it difficult to operate and keep cost low.”

He revealed that the association’s leadership has been in talks with the various regulators both at the state and the federal level on the matter.
