LASG sacks George Noah as LASAA helmsman

The Managing Director of Lagos State Signage and Advertisement Agency, LASAA, Mr. George Noah has been sacked, Marketing Edge can authoritatively disclose.

A source very close to the agency told Marketing Edge on Friday that the LASAA boss was sacked and had since been replaced by his deputy Mr. Olumide Sogunle in acting capacity.

Though the source could not reveal the reasons for Noah’s removal, investigation by Marketing Edge showed that it was not unconnected with the plan by the present state Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode to appoint a new helmsman.

Noah assumed office in 2011; succeeding Mr. Tunji Bello, who was then the Managing Director of the agency from where he was appointed as Environment Commissioner by Governor Babatunde Fashola.Today Tunji Bello is the Secretary to the State Government.

Findings by Marketing Edge showed that Noah is believed to be one of the loyal activist “boys” to the former state Governor Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, having functioned as one of the arrow heads of the then Radio Kudirat initiative during NADECO era.

Before he became the LASSA boss Noah had worked in most aspects of the media (broadcasting (TV and radio), journalism (electronic and print), and publishing, advertising, marketing and public relations.

Meanwhile Olumide Sogunle has since assumed office as the Acting Manging Director and is immediately saddled with the responsibility of planning and developing strategies for providing and maintaining highly effective Registry in line with corporate vision and mission, and in compliance with the LASAA regulations.

Authoritative industry sources also revealed that Governor Akinwunmi Ambode has embarked on aggressive overhauling of the agency, divesting it of some of its former functions and activities.

Perhaps the ultimate sack of Noah is a consequence of the reform.
