IWD 2024: Brands, agencies celebrate this year’s theme, ‘Inspiring Inclusion’

International Women’s Day (IWD) is a day to shine a spotlight on women around the world and their immense contributions across diverse fields of human endeavour. The global occasion is also dedicated to honour women for their accomplishments, resilience and other indispensable roles they play in advancing gender equality.
The theme for this year’s IWD is “Inspiring Inclusion”, which aligns with the global campaign focus of investing in women to accelerate progress. The aim of the theme is to address the emergency economic disempowerment of women while championing their empowerment in the society. The campaign is also a call to collective action to honour and protect women, particularly those from marginalized backgrounds.
Brands and agencies that took to social media to celebrate women in their respective fields this year have this to say:
A post by SBI Media on Instagram read: “Elevate, empower, invest! This International Women’s Day, we embrace the theme “if you want to go far, invest in women. They are the driving force that make our society better and we are lucky to have them. Join us in honoring the limitless potential and contributions of women around the world. Let their stories ignite your commitment to fostering change and creating a more inclusive world.
Nigerian Breweries Plc joined the celebration with a post that read: “As we honour women on this special day, let’s continue to #InspireInclusion. By fostering understanding and valuing the inclusion of women, we shape a world of belonging, relevance, and empowerment.”
A post from Lacasera drink read: “Today, we honor the trailblazers, the dreamers, and the change-makers. Happy International Women’s Day to the women who dare to challenge, inspire, and make Next Happen.”
A post from Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON) read: “Here is wishing all the beautiful, bold and brainy women, shaping the advertising industry and the world at large a very Happy International Women’s Day. We cherish your selflessness and intelligence.”
Also, in celebration of the day, MediaReach OMD wrote: “Today, we celebrate the remarkable achievements, resilience, and contributions of women across the globe.
