International Energy Insurance confirms resignation of MD/CEO, appoints Ebunolu Ayeni as Acting MD

In a notice at the Nigerian Stock Exchange, International Energy Insurance Plc (IEI), announced the resignation of the Managing Director/CEO, Mr Peter Irene with effect for December 20, 2020.

The firm said Chief Operating Officer, Mr Ebunolu Ayeni had taken over in acting capacity pending the approval of the National Insurance Commission for the appointment of a substantial managing director.

The notice said Ayeni is a graduate of Insurance from University of Lagos with Master Degree in Marketing and Management from Ladoke Akintola University and Enugu State University respectively.

He is a fellow of the Insurance Institute of Nigeria with over three decades of cognitive experience. He is also a member of Nigeria Council of Registered Insurance Brokers and the Institute Of Loans and Risk Management, Nigeria.

With a redirection of internal and external dynamics of the company, International Energy Insurance focused the core business on a yawning gap in the insurance industry, Energy Insurance. In 2003 International Energy Insurance, IEI was born. This was followed by a major recapitalization, which was needed to meet the challenges of this new direction.

The company’s security is backed by a consortium of local and foreign re-insurers.
