The company also unveiled the GTCO Fashion Collective, a year-round platform meant to keep the fashion community connected beyond the annual event.

The two-day event, themed “Fashion Is Timeless,” will run from 10am to 10pm daily and is free and open to the public. According to the GTCO, this year’s edition celebrates fashion as a lasting expression of creativity, culture and identity, while reaffirming GTCO’s commitment to promoting enterprise and supporting the growth of Africa’s fashion industry.

Speaking on the event, Segun Agbaje, GTCO Group Chief Executive Officer, said fashion was not only an expression of creativity and culture but also a significant driver of enterprise and economic opportunity.

He noted that over the past nine years, the Fashion Weekend had evolved into a platform for discovering talent, sharing knowledge and connecting businesses to new markets.

“That sense of possibility is what drives our next step,” he said.

That next step is the GTCO Fashion Collective, designed to connect designers, models, stylists, photographers, editors, buyers, content creators and other members of the creative community.

Agbaje said the platform will keep “the conversation, the commerce and the collaboration going long after the runway lights go down.”

He added that the Collective would give greater visibility to the people and businesses driving Africa’s fashion ecosystem, while creating more opportunities for entrepreneurs to showcase their work, reach customers and build sustainable businesses.

It will also include a Manufacturer and Textile Directory, a curated and searchable record of the craftspeople behind Africa’s most authentic fabrics, including Aso-oke weavers, Adire dyers and indigenous artisans.

The fashion show will feature masterclasses led by prominent figures in the global fashion and beauty industries.

They include fashion entrepreneur, model and digital creator Sherlina Nym; Rachel Ojuromi; and Renee Morris, founder of the natural hair brand Uncle Funky’s Daughter. Buttah Skin will also host a skincare masterclass. On Saturday, Morris will speak from 4:15pm to 5:15pm, followed by Nym from 5:30pm to 6:30pm.

Ojuromi takes the Sunday session from 4:15pm to 5:15pm.

The runway will feature designers from Africa and beyond. Day one will showcase collections by Tongoro, FIA Factory, Ibrahim Fernandez, Washington Roberts, Maison Sara Chraibi and Imane Ayissi. Day two will present Sukeina, House of Marvee, Selam Fessahaye, Kim Shui, Ohlanna Bu Zikora and LaQuan Smith. The Presentation Stage will feature Spectrum By Aisha, MSO Lyn and Cyca Cecil on Saturday, and Sheye Oladayo, Mome Recha and Mila Wold on Sunday.

Beyond the runway and masterclasses, attendees will have access to 140 curated fashion retail stores offering a wide range of pieces at accessible prices, a craft and fabric market, and a dedicated Streetwear Hub celebrating contemporary fashion and the creativity influencing today’s culture.

Since its inception, the GTCO Fashion Weekend has grown into one of Africa’s leading consumer-focused fashion and enterprise platforms, bringing together designers, retailers, creatives, entrepreneurs and fashion enthusiasts.

GTCO said the weekend is part of its continued commitment to Promoting Enterprise and Creating Great Experiences.
