Grand Oak Reward Employees, Shower Love on the Less Privileged

Grand Oak Limited, a leading marketer of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in Nigeria has recognised and rewarded members of its staff who have distinguished themselves by putting in extra effort and gone beyond the call of duty, with awards in various categories.

Staff members turned up en masse in their colourful attires to celebrate the end of 2014 and make merry during the New Year/Long Service Award which held at the rosy ambience of Etal Hall, in Lagos.

Speaking at the event, the Managing Director, Grand Oak Limited, Mr. Akshay Kumar gave a vivid account of the achievement of 2014 financial year. The achievements include the launch of Seaman’s Schnapps’ Centenary limited edition pack, Swagga Bitters launch, Calypso Slim Coco 37.5cl launch among several milestone achievements.

He stated that the event was a way of giving back to the team for the successes that Grand Oak brands have achieved over the years. “It is also a way of letting down their hair and partying in celebration of last year’s achievement and in readiness for this New Year adding that the company endeavours to make the annual event a better experience every year.”

Also speaking at the event, the Commercial Director of the company, Aare Fatai Odesile, said that the various departments had worked very well in 2014 and hence deserve to have a good time. “the party is our company’s tradition, and one that celebrates the good year especially 2014, the year GOL regained its championship position in the Lexcel Group Company. He urged members of staff to press harder in 2015 to be able to retain it.

“Being number one is not without its own challenges. Having lost it in the past, we must work harder now and be more innovative in order to maintain that enviable position and ensure that others only follow” Aare Odesile said.

Speaking on behalf of the awardees, Mrs. Sade Adebayo, Grand Oak’s Financial Controller who received the meritorious award of 20 years of service at the event expressed appreciation to the company for an opportunity given to be a part of the group; she assured that the award is a major source of encouragement for them to do more.

In furtherance of its corporate social responsibility, Grand Oak Limited also demonstrated genuine connection to its roots by showing affection towards three orphanages and a remand home in Lagos yesterday. The company which gave out its non-alcoholic products and several other gift items to the recipients was led by the Human Resources team.

The team visited Little Saints Orphanage Home, Heart of Gold Children’s Hospice, Optimal Children Home and Boys Remand Home (Special Correctional Centre for Boys), all in the Lagos area of South West Nigeria.

Speaking during the love-sharing visitation to Little Saints Orphanage, Assistant Manager, Human Resources Grand Oak Limited, Mrs. Osewa Olumide says, “The aim of this visit is to share joy and show love to you, our brothers and sisters in the society and also to make you understand that our company will always be there for you at all times”.

She also says further, “We know very well that lack of support for the less privileged is a major challenge in society. Over the years under our CSR team we have supported several Orphanage Homes as one of our own way of giving back to the society and Grand Oak will continue to contribute to the less privileged”.

Mrs. Lola Ayo-Adedeji, the founder of Optimal Children Home applauds the visiting staff of Grand Oak for extending products and food items to the home, she describes Grand Oak as relentless and cheerful in their humanitarian services to the home over the years. She urged other companies to follow in the step of Grand Oak as one of the ways to give the less privileged children life and hope.
