Former MTN South Africa CEO, Farroukh ports to Etisalat

MTN CEO South Africa, Ahmad Farroukh who resigned from his seat last week for personal reasons has since joined the Etisalat Group.

Etisalat has just announced him as the new Chief Executive Officer for Mobily – an Etisalat Group affiliate in Saudi Arabia.

In an internal statement released today, MTN CEO, South Africa, Ahmad Farroukh has announced his resignation. It is deemed to take effect starting July 31st. This is a position he took up last year, and it’s not really clear, the reason behind this decision.

He recently served as CEO of MTN Nigeria and South Africa before leaving his seat sometime last week.

Farroukh joined MTN in 2006, and has worked as CEO in Nigeria and Ghana divisions of the firm.

He brings with him over three decades of international business experience across Middle East, Africa, North America and Europe to his new role at Mobily.
