FinTechNGR partners Opay to enhance ecosystem

FinTech Association of Nigeria has partnered with Opay, a one-stop mobile-based platform for payment and other services. The partnership, according to the association, will enhance acceleration and innovation, membership and other support to the ecosystem.

FinTechNGR made the announcement on its official Instagram page, following an engagement with the management of Opay in Lagos recently.

Present at the meeting, according to FinTech Nigeria, were “Damilola Ishie (Engagement Manager) Leo Hao (Senior Director, Opay), @obrimah (Chief Operating Officer, FintechNGR), Seun Folorunso (Resource Manager) and Seun Alley, (Director, Partnership), Oride.

FintechNGR is a self-regulatory, not-for-profit and non-political organisation incorporated in Nigeria and a member of Global Fintech Hubs Federation. The Association was established to serve as a platform for the development of the financial technology industry in Nigeria and to be a forum for the exchange of ideas and dissemination of information by and between various stakeholders in the Nigerian financial technology services industry.

Opay, on the other hand, is more than a payment company. Its platform is available for transportation, food & grocery delivery, and other important services in the day-to-day activity of people. Millions of users rely on OPay everyday to send and receive money, pay bills, and order food and groceries.

The e-hailing company believes user should be able to enjoy financial and social inclusion regardless for physical borders, boundaries, or even social status.
