Experts list ways to build successful brands at Heineken Fashion & Design Week

Experts in the fashion and lifestyle industry at the 7th edition of the Heineken Fashion & Design Week 2017 have listed strategies for building a visible, desirable and profitable business.

The event was held in various cities across the country, which included Abuja, Enugu, Lagos and Port-Harcourt with the theme: “From Passion to Profit.”

Leading the talk in Enugu, Founder #HLFDW, Mr. Omoyemi Akerele, said the event was geared towards opening the minds of aspiring creatives in the fashion industry.

According to Akerele the fashion week would also serve as a space to network with like minds and influencers.

He however, emphasized the importance of being deliberate and intentional as part of strategies for building a visible, desirable and profitable business.

Speaking in the same vein, a fashion consultant, Mr. Ezinne Chinkata, call for the need for constant training of designers in order to attain excellence.

Ada of Adaz Fabrics, who attended the talk in Enugu, commended the organisers, saying, “The talks were insightful as they gave us tools and pointers as creatives in the fashion industry. We also talked about identity gaps/voids to fill, challenges in the creative industry and how to overcome them. I was so grateful to be part of it.”

At the Lagos edition, Ink Eze, Founder AsoEbi Bella stated: “Whether you have a business or a 9-5 job, work hard to stand out”.

Other speakers: Eku Edewor, Ezinne Chinkata, George Okoro, Kelechi Amadi Obi, Ink Eze, Omoyemi Akerele, Tsemaye  Binitie, Yummie Ogbebor and Zara Odu, all shared personal experiences on how to convert passion into a sustainable business that adds value to the lives of the people.

Attendees from this year’s edition were thrilled to gain more insight into alternative ways of making their passion more profitable to them. They expressed sincere gratitude to have been part of the talks and are already looking forward to the next edition.
