Davido to perform at PFA Awards Night in Manchester

David Adeleke, an award winning singer popularly known as Davido, is set to perform at the 2023 Professional Footballers Association (PFA) Awards alongside other notable guest artistes.
The award is scheduled to be held at the Lowry Theatre, Manchester, on Tuesday, August 29th. Davido made the announcement known across his social media handles.
The post read: “Ballers. Are you ready? We are bringing some TIMELESS vibes to you at the 50th PFA AWARDS in Manchester on the 29th of August. Let’s have an unforgettable night.”
The event will feature the presentation of awards such as PFA Players’ Player of the Year, PFA Young Player of the Year, PFA Merit Award, and the announcement of the Divisional Team of the Year.
A statement on the organizers website said this year’s award edition is special because it marks 50 years of the awards’ existence.
The statement read: “The PFA Awards is always a special occasion, recognising the outstanding performers from every division and voted for by the players. This year is particularly special as we celebrate 50 years of the Awards.
“The 50th PFA Awards will be held at the Lowry Theatre on Tuesday, 29th August. The Awards will take on an exciting new format with further details to follow soon!
“On the night, we will announce the winners of the PFA Players’ Player of the Year winners, the PFA Young Player of the Year categories and each divisional Team of the Year will be named. In addition to the PFA Players’ Player of the Year and PFA Young Player of the Year (21-years-old or under at the beginning of the season), we will honour footballing achievement through the PFA’s Merit Award.”
Previous winners of the Player of the Year Award include Cristiano Ronaldo, Luis Suárez, Lucy Bronze and Mohamed Salah. The current holders are Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah and Chelsea’s Sam Kerr.
The PFA is the union for professional association football players in England and Wales, with more than 5,000 members across the divisional levels.
It could also be recalled that Davido performed at the closing ceremony of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
