Chief Mrs. Modupe Oluwabunmi Ajayi: Celebrating 50 years of inspiring achievement

Mrs. Modupe Oluwabunmi Ajayi, known affectionately as “Bontus,” was born into this world five decades ago to the loving family of Pa. Mukaila Oguneye Dada and late Mrs. Abike Dada. Hailing from the vibrant community of Agbowa Ikosi in Epe division of Lagos State, Bunmi’s roots are deeply connected to her Muslim heritage.

As the first child of her father and the cherished surviving child of her late mother, Bunmi’s early years were marked by leadership and academic excellence.

She attended both primary and secondary school in Agbowa Ikosi and had the honor of serving as the Head Girl in Methodist Primary School and later as the Senior Girl Prefect at Ikosi Methodist High School. Her fervor for education led her to a year-long program at Debis Computer College in Ikeja, Lagos, where she earned a diploma in Computer Science. Committed to her educational journey, Bunmi pursued her studies at the University of Lagos (UNILAG), where she obtained her B.Sc. in Mass Communication.

During her youth service, she displayed unwavering dedication while serving at Eko International Bank, earning her a prompt and instant employment at the bank. She remained with the same institution, now known as Polaris Bank, for an impressive 19 years, departing as a Branch Control Manager in 2021.

Bunmi is happily married to Mr. John Ajayi, Publisher and CEO of Marketing Edge Publications, a renowned marketing and advertising publication in Nigeria.

As a reward for their contributions to their community, Bunmi and her husband were honored early this month with Chieftaincy titles .While Bunmi was given the title of Yeye Asiwaju of Ijan Kingdom following her husband’s installation as High Chief Asiwaju of Ijan-Ekiti.

Their union has been blessed with very wonderful daughters.

Bunmi is also an Executive Director in her husband’s esteemed company, Marketing Edge Publications and Media Edge Limited.

She holds professional qualifications and memberships of the Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON) and the National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria (NIMN). Her unwavering focus and tireless work ethic have propelled her into the realms of sales and marketing.

She is also a respected dealer and supplier of various essential products, including Bow Soya Oil, Amber Energy Drink, GP flour, sugar, rice, and more.

Beyond her professional life, Bunmi is also a devout and confirmed Catholic, actively engaged in the Catholic Women Organization (CWO) and the Divine Mercy Prayer Group. Her faith is an essential part of her life, guiding her in her many endeavors.

As Chief Mrs. Modupe Oluwabunmi Ajayi celebrates her 50th birthday, her life journey shines as an inspiring story of resilience, commitment, and unwavering determination.

Her remarkable contributions to family values, community, and the corporate world are celebrated by all who have had the privilege of knowing her.
