Chamsmobile has appointed Dr. Tolu Aofolaju as its new Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, bringing more than two decades of experience spanning financial services, technology, digital banking and business transformation to the company’s top leadership position.

The appointment, announced by Chamsmobile on LinkedIn, comes as the mobile money and payments company seeks to strengthen its technology and payment services and expand the accessibility of digital financial solutions across Nigeria.

Aofolaju steps into the role with extensive experience in leading multidisciplinary teams, managing risk, improving technical operations and implementing digital banking solutions.

Over the course of her career, she has also worked as a business adviser and change consultant, where she designed and deployed technology solutions for organisations across several sectors.

Her professional experience cuts across manufacturing, education, healthcare, oil and gas and telecommunications, giving her exposure to different operating environments and business challenges.

According to Chamsmobile, her approach has consistently centred on building partnerships and executing transformation projects aimed at improving organisational performance.

The company said her blend of conventional banking experience and fintech expertise will support its next stage of development, particularly as digital financial services continue to reshape how consumers and businesses access payment solutions.

With Aofolaju now at the helm, Chamsmobile said it plans to further develop its technology and payment offerings while improving the accessibility, security and ease of use of its services.

The company specifically highlighted Kegow, its digital financial services platform, as one of the products expected to benefit from the renewed focus on technology and customer experience.

Beyond her industry experience, Aofolaju brings a strong academic and professional portfolio to the position. She is an alumna of Lagos Business School and has pursued advanced business studies in the United Kingdom, with specialisations in fintech and information technology management. She has also undertaken executive education in digital strategy at the University of Oxford.

In addition, she holds fellowship and associate credentials with professional institutes focused on banking and credit administration in Nigeria and internationally.

Chamsmobile’s Board of Directors welcomed her appointment, describing her combination of financial services knowledge and technology expertise as relevant to the company’s ambitions.

The company said her arrival marks a new chapter in its growth journey as it continues working to expand mobile money and digital payment services for individuals and businesses across the country.

As she assumes responsibility for the company’s strategic and operational direction, Aofolaju is expected to draw on her background in business transformation, technology deployment and financial services to guide Chamsmobile through its next phase.
