Airlines deploy valentine campaigns to woo passengers

Following the declined of passengers’ traffic in both foreign and domestic operations in 2016, airlines operating in the country have developed various marketing strategies to woo more passengers. The campaigns are mainly designed to catch in on the rise in travels usually associated with the valentine season..

Some of the strategies employed by the airlines include: introduction of low airfare, improved In-flight services, deployment of mobile application, on-time departure, friendly counters services amongst others and advert placement in the media.

Most of the airlines are currently selling their tickets at lower rates with Air Peace Airline selling for N16, 000 to any destination within Nigeria during the Valentine season, other airlines who have also reduced their airfares are Dana Air at N15, 300 on a one way trip within the period, and Arik Airline with reduced special Valentine promo fare from January 31, 2017.

In terms of making passengers comfortable, airlines like Dana Air and Turkish Airlines have deployed mobile application to enable passengers access internet facilities while onboard and that would make them feel relax and comfortable onboard.

Communications Manager, Dana Airline, Mr. Kingsley Ezenwa, said that the airline pride itself in the area of on-time departure and in-flight services, adding that its counters services to its numerous passengers is also a friendly one.

Ezenwa noted that the airline was doing its best by providing all the necessary strategies that would help to keep its guests comfortable whenever they fly onboard Dana Air.

He said: “On the reduced fare, the campaign will encourage passengers to plan their trip, using the airline’s website www.flydanaair.com, all points of sale and across the counters. The validity for travel on this promo ends in February, while sale ends on February14”

Meanwhile, Public Relations and Communications Manager, Arik Airline, Mr. Adebanji Ola, said that with the reduced fare their airline is offering, customers can buying one return ticket to any destination within Nigeria and then get another return ticket free for their loved one.

Ola noted that the offer is open for purchase on or before February 14,, 2017. To make this super flexible, convenient and to give adequate time for customers to plan their getaways with their loved ones.
