Admen converge in Kochi for IAA World Congress

Top executives of advertising and media agencies around the world have gathered in Kochi, India for the International Advertising Association (IAA) World Congress. The event which started on February 20 and will end on the 22nd holds at the Grand Hyatt Lulu International Convention Centre.

The New York-based IAA has a presence in 55 countries, and consists of advertisers, advertising agencies and the media. The World Congress is held every alternate year in various destinations around the world.

Around 2,000 delegates from around are expected to participate in the event, said Srinivasan Swamy, Chairman and World President, IAA.

Mukesh Ambani, CMD, Reliance Industries, Paul Polman, CEO, Unilever, Steven Mollenkopf, CEO, Qualcomm, Nandan Nilekani, Non-Executive Chairman of Infosys and former Chairman of UIDAI, Rajiv Misra, CEO, Softbank Investment Advisors, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar are scheduled to address the summit.

The congress is being planned as the most significant event covering marketing, communications and related technology areas in the world. The topics would appeal to professionals in the areas of marketing, advertising, media and technology, as well as academics and students, adds Pradeep Guha, Chairman, Steering Committee, IAA World Congress.

Actor Amitabh Bachchan and actress Deepika Padukone will also speak. Social humanoid robot Sophia, a harbinger of the coming era of cyborgs, will be one of the attractions.
