President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) for emerging as the Year 2025 Global Public Relations Association at the prestigious World Public Relations and Communication Award in Lisbon, Portugal.

The institute was adjudged the best in the world following a competitive process that attracted 89 entries from 19 countries on February 19, 2026.

In a statement, President Tinubu commended Dr. Ike Neliaku, president and chairman of the NIPR Governing Council, and Alhaji Mohammed Idris, minister of information and national orientation, for their leadership and commitment that culminated in the institute’s global honor.

The president described the achievement as a resounding endorsement of Nigeria’s growing influence and professionalism in the global public relations and strategic communications ecosystem.

He noted that the award reflects the transformative reforms and international engagement championed by NIPR, as well as the enabling policy direction and institutional support provided by the Federal Ministry of Information and National Orientation under Minister Idris.

According to President Tinubu, the recognition underscores Nigeria’s capacity to set benchmarks in ethical communication, public trust building and national reputation management.

He expressed confidence that the institute will continue to advance excellence, innovation and integrity in public relations practice.

President Tinubu reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting institutions that elevate Nigeria’s image internationally and contribute meaningfully to national development through effective communication and stakeholder engagement.
