The EDGE Awards 2025 honoured Mr Taiwo Ayodele Adeniyi, Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Vitafoam Nigeria PLC, as the Outstanding Company CEO of the Decade (Manufacturing Sector).

The accolade recognises his consistent leadership, innovation, and impact on Nigeria’s manufacturing industry.

Adeniyi joined Vitafoam in 2007 as Logistics Manager and steadily rose through the ranks to become Manufacturing Manager in 2010. He assumed the role of Executive Director and later Technical Director, before becoming Acting Managing Director in April 2015. He was confirmed as substantive Managing Director on 4 June 2015.

Under his leadership, Vitafoam has navigated challenging economic conditions while delivering strong financial results. In its most recent reporting period, the company posted a substantial increase in profit before tax, doubling it to ₦4.469 billion from ₦2.236 billion in the previous comparable period. Revenue also rose sharply, confirming the company’s operational strength and growth momentum.

Adeniyi has long emphasised quality, customer satisfaction, and innovation as vital pillars of the company’s strategy. He has led Vitafoam to expand its product range across foam, rigid polyurethane, bedding, and furniture, while also investing in technological upgrades and safety practices. His approach has earned multiple awards over the years, including CEO of the Year in Manufacturing by Africa Safety Award for Excellence (AfriSAFE), and other accolades recognising Vitafoam’s performance in product innovation, customer service, and market leadership.
