Nigeria’s leading fast food brand, Chicken Republic has proudly celebrated 20 years of successful business operations in Africa. Since its inception in 2004, Chicken Republic has remained at the forefront of Quick Service Restaurant business in Nigeria.
The company has over 300 outlets across Nigeria and Ghana connecting Africa Culture and Cuisine. It has become a household name with its special dish of spicy Jollof rice and chicken.
According to a LinkedIn post by Kofi Abunu, Managing Director and CEO, Food Concepts, titled 20 Years of Nice Nice- the Chicken Republic Success Story, the company lives by 5 pillars that helped shape the success story of the brand.
The post read: “As we celebrate our 20th anniversary, we reflect on the journey that has made Chicken Republic a beloved household name. Here are five pillars that have been instrumental in shaping our success.
Speaking on the 5 pillars Kofi, noted that embracing local identity helped the company to start from small and grow into over 300 hundred locations across Nigeria and Ghana. Identifying the pillars as consistency in product and management, embracing local identity, empowering stakeholders, investing in team development and focusing on its core.
“We began our journey in Lagos back in 2004. From that small beginning, we’ve grown into a network of over 300 plus locations across Nigeria and Ghana. It was founded by Deji Akinyanju, and the first restaurant was established in Apapa, Lagos in 2004. The first Chicken Republic restaurant was opened in Lagos in 2004 and is presently trading in over 300 locations across Nigeria and Ghana.
